Jeremiah D. Tipton, Ph.D., is a seasoned bioanalytical chemist, with commercial cross-functional expertise, and the Founder of Applied Omics & Life Sciences LLC. He carries over 20+ years of experience in Life Sciences and Biopharma Industries. Earning a Ph.D. in BioAnalytical Chemistry from the University of Florida, his career has been defined by a deep technical mastery of proteomics, metabolomics, and small molecule analysis with liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC/MS). As well, he has spent the last 12+ years integrating commercial knowledge, building real world and market understanding from the ground up. Dr. Tipton can work within current structures and needs of a company; but  Dr. Tipton also looks to integrate the Business-of-Science with new, innovative  systems and models.

During his time at the bench, he successfully bridged the gap between complex molecular data and actionable insights. As a prolific researcher and innovator, Dr. Tipton has co-authored over 20+ peer-reviewed manuscripts and holds 2 patents for drug discovery methods using LC-MS-based bioanalysis. His expertise spans a vast range of instrumentation, detection techniques and workflows - as well as specialized techniques like top-down proteomics, bottom-up proteomics, hydrogen/deuterium exchange (HDX) for structural biology, small molecule quantification, metabolomics, and therapeutic protein characterization analysis

Dr. Tipton is recognized for his ability to implement sophisticated OMICS workflows that have been transformative for the biomedical research community, particularly in the study of molecular mechanisms for diseases like cancer and diabetes. As well, Dr. Tipton is recognized for the ability to implement existing small molecule Bioanalytical workflows with ease.

Beyond his academic publications, he has delivered more than 30+ professional presentations and workshops, focusing on specific technical applications, results from clinical research studies, the integration of mass spectrometry into clinical research, and personalized medicine.

His work emphasizes a "Fit-for-Purpose" approach, ensuring that analytical methods are qualified and fit to the need - to be reliable and relevant for their specific intended use in basic and clinical research settings. As well, the same "Fit-for-Purpose" approach can be applied to operating commercial companies, as many objective decisions that are made for best Return-on-Investment need purpose.

During his tenure as the Director of the Proteomics and Mass Spectrometry Laboratory at the University of South Florida, he initiated what he called an “Academic CRO” model.  To showcase his leadership, over a one year period, he ended the year with a slightly positive balance. He also grew the facility to manage approximately 30 concurrent projects.

Including Project and Core Facility Management, Dr. Tipton has developed business acumen through business development, technical marketing, market development, and market management at industry-leading organizations such as SCIEX and Bruker. At SCIEX and Bruker, he tailored advanced bioanalytical workflow narratives to present solutions for academic, pharma and biopharma sectors. Dr. Tipton is in tune with modern trends in biomedical research, bioanalytical detection schemes / workflows, and the market trends that affect purchasing power and research dollars. He currently releases presentations through Applied Omics & Life Sciences LLC.

Currently, through Applied Omics & Life Sciences LLC, Dr. Tipton focuses on providing integrated management across the entire business structure for life sciences, small biotech, start-up to market analytical technologies, CRO, and bioanalytical labs. He utilizes a Socratic Analysis Framework to help organizations identify blind spots, and refine market strategies. As well, he likes to focus on translating complex technical data into clear communications for regulators and users. This includes AI as a tool for creating new, reduced information, from complex sources and needs.

Applied Omics & Life Sciences LLC also provides a full suite of Bioanalytical Pairing, Training, and Consulting Services. Much of Dr. Tipton’s career has been dedicated to training scientists in the "Arts of LC-MS". He has lost count of the number of people he has met during training sessions.

This unique blend of technical aptitude, presentation training, and business acumen allows him to navigate both the laboratory and executive leadership meetings with equal proficiency. To understand Dr. Tipton's role, one might think of him as a master architect for the scientific endeavor; he does not just provide the tools (the instruments) but creates the entire structural blueprint (the workflows, strategy, and rails) necessary to ensure a research project can stand the weight of rigorous clinical research and commercial demands.

Driven by a passion for personalized health care, he authored "The N-of-1 Challenge," a guide focused on individual wellness and nutrition-based philosophies. Transform Bioanalysis from purely treating diseases to enable preventative healthcare.
